What You'll Get To Do:

Reporting to PNA Tax Manager. Senior Tax Analyst will be responsible for accurate and timely completion and filing of domestic sales and use tax returns, property tax returns, and non US VAT, GST compliance. This includes the preparation of foreign branch tax reporting for VAT, GST, and other similar indirect taxes for the foreign branch operations of one of Business Operating Companies. This position will also assist in tax audits and projects for both Domestic and Foreign operations of Panasonic group of entities.

  • Indirect Tax Compliance and Reporting, Domestic and Foreign

  • Prepare and review workbooks and documentation for the support of indirect tax filings, including renditions, exemption filings, monthly accruals, and assisting with monthly and annual returns

  • Assist with the management of indirect tax compliance processes, including coordination with outsourced Global Services Provider for the preparation, review, and timely filing indirect tax returns, both domestic and foreign

  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, analysis, and documentation in relation to indirect tax reporting

  • Oversee indirect tax rates, tax classification, and exemption documentation

  • Manage indirect tax audits, including responding to audit queries and information requests

  • Perform indirect tax balance sheet accounts analysis

  • Manage and review state unclaimed property returns

  • Maintain up to date documentation on indirect tax processes and evaluates opportunities for improvement, automation, and efficiencies across the indirect tax function

  • Monitor indirect tax legislation and implement compliance changes and communicate impact to the businesses

  • Determine indirect rates for new products and services to be sold

  • Assist with the development and review indirect tax internal controls

  • Perform regular review of indirect rates across our large portfolio of products to ensure compliance

  • Partner with business teams to advise on the indirect tax implications of their activities

  • Manage and support Vertex tax engine tool by working closely with IT and outside consultants and become proficient in Vertex to maintain the indirect tax related settings in Vertex

  • Perform periodic reviews of the accuracy of AP and AR entries related to indirect taxes

  • Support Group Tax with the global indirect projects

What You'll Bring:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required

  • 4+ years of experience, Public or Private

  • Knowledge of and experience in Oracle, Vertex and MS Office preferred

Competencies

  • Attention to detail is a must.

  • Excellent follow up skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of the team yet function well independently.

  • Possess strong Excel skills for reconciling and analyzing large amounts of data using vlookups and pivot tables.

  • Be able to research, interpret, and apply tax regulations to business activities.
