The Systems Engineer working on Low Voltage (LV) Power Distribution Systems will be responsible for complete end to end integration of vehicle power distribution systems & architecture and participate in the system level design activities for the LV power system. You will own the fusing strategies for EV platforms and lead the bring up activities in each of the vehicle builds for your domain. You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Develop and support the launch of next-generation vehicle platforms for electric vehicles.

  • Lead the design, integration and functional testing of smart power distribution systems in next generation electrical architectures

  • Collaborate with hardware & software teams to establish fusing strategies based on device characteristics and drive requirements into hardware design

  • Dictate fusing requirements to electrical distribution systems teams to align on circuit protection devices and optimal wiring strategies

  • Create, plan, and execute system level test cases to validate system fusing strategy and ensure all functional safety goals are met

  • Bring up and debug hardware and system level test assets, spearhead root cause analysis and corrective actions

  • Perform tradeoff analyses on vehicle power budgets with Range & Efficiency and HV hardware teams to optimize LV bus sizing to meet vehicle performance targets

  • Develop load profile models to simulate worst case situations, establish system level requirements for platform architecture design

  • Coordinate with all LV electronic device owners and integration leads to maintain a peripheral load list and develop nominal and transient power profiles

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields

  • Strong Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineering fundamentals

  • 5+ years of experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, LIN & Automotive Ethernet• Experience developing systems in the low voltage power domain and understanding of load shed strategies

  • Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, software/hardware tool development, functional safety, network and diagnostics process

Preferred Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields

  • Experience with tuning of vehicle software & hardware for robust system level protection

  • Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills

  • Experience in leading product development from concept to deployment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team

  • A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement
