JOB SUMMARY
Work with general supervision and as a team player to perform routine drafting for mechanical, electrical and/or electronic components using both 3D and 2D CAD software and word processing for support documents. Apply knowledge and skills of procedures and techniques to create and modify documents that form a technical data package.
This position is subject to meeting U.S. export compliance and/or U.S. Government contracting citizenship eligibility requirements.Must be a US Citizen.
The wage range for this role considers allowances for a number of factors, including but not limited to required experience, skill level, prior training, licensure/certifications, education and other business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $24.81 - $41.35.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Generate new documents and revise existing documents for mechanical, electrical and/or electronic components and support documents.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training.
Post high school education courses in mechanical, electrical and/or electronic drafting, dimensioning and tolerancing or 1 to 2 years related experience and/or training is required. Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and ASME Y14.100 is a plus. Mechanical, electrical and/or electronic design knowledge is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to hear, speak and understand in English. Requires fair written and oral communication skills.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Must have the ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to pay close attention to detail, stay focused and maintain a high degree of accuracy on repetitive work. Requires strong organizational skills and work habits. Ability to follow instructions and procedures exactly and make minor decisions if following an established procedure. Ability to be highly productive in generating drawings and revisions. All work is subject to review.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

Need to be open-minded. Required to be a team player, cooperating with colleagues as required. Work may be independent but will have interactions with engineers and members from other departments. Should be capable of working independently and under time pressure.
COMPUTER SKILLS
Prior experience of mechanical, electrical and/or electronic component drafting and personal computer use using Word and Excel is required. Prior knowledge of SolidWorks and SOLIDWorks PDM is desired.
TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED ON THE JOB
Personal computer using SolidWorks, SOLIDWORKS PDM, AutoCAD, Visio Excel and Word. Copier/printer and plotter.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is usually performed in an air-conditioned office environment.
Position involves sitting, standing and/or walking. Position requires ability to frequently exert up to 10 pounds of force to move/lift objects and occasionally exert up to 20 pounds of force to move/lift objects. May involve some lifting. Repetitive type job. Extensive periods sitting at desk and reading computer screen and drawings. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, reach or walk. This position requires that the employee be able to hear and speak clearly. Ability to work under time pressure is necessary. Willing to work long hours if required. Ability to work independently and as a team player.
