You’ll partner cross-functionally with manufacturing operations and sales teams, delivering thoughtful solutions to complex challenges all while developing your knowledge of the medical device industry. Applies skill in the maintenance of production equipment to ensure ongoing optimum performance, in compliance in EHS and other applicable quality and regulatory guidelines.

How you’ll make an impact:

• The hours for this role are 2nd Shift: Sunday to Thursday 1:30-10:00pm

• Perform primarily unscheduled preventive maintenance routines on a wider range of complex equipment, as well as scheduling regular maintenance, and validate user operation in an effort to avoid program down time, and providing expertise and guidance in resolving complex failures.

• Troubleshoot, as well as anticipate issues, and propose solutions to limit downtime and keep production on schedule.

• Apply in-depth knowledge of processes in the use of machines to ensure successful outcomes, devise complex process changes, and ensure knowledge transfer to other levels of technicians.

• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to evaluate existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement and optimal operations.

• Check for failures in equipment and perform corrective actions to affected areas that have down time, including conducting and writing impact assessment reports of incidents, exception work orders (EWOs), Equipment Non-conformance Reports (ENCRs), and Out of Tolerance (OOTs).

• Provide training, coaching, guidance, and information to lower level technicians as requested and needed.

• On time arrival to work, regular attendance without excessive absenteeism, and working a full 8 hour or longer work period

• Other incidental duties (e.g. occasional photo copying or deliveries) 5%

What you'll need:

Associate's Degree or equivalent in Industrial Technician in Electronics/Electricity , 7 years years experience related experience; working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, lubrication, pneumatic, boiler, and/or autoclave with demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach others, and transfer knowledge Required

What else we look for (Preferred):

• Strong English language skills, including reading, comprehending, speaking and writing, and good communication skills

• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and Maximo

• Extensive knowledge of routine preventive maintenance of production equipment including PLC and automatic access control systems

• In-depth knowledge in multidisciplinary electrical, mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, and controls

• Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department clean room medical device manufacturing

• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing and Good Documentation Practices supporting a medical device environment

• Must be able to work independently, and provide guidance, training, and assignments to lower-level technicians

• Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

For California, the base pay range for this position is $67,000 to $95,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
