KITCHEN KETTLE VILLAGE is now accepting applications for a *PART-TIME BAKESHOP PRODUCTION ASSISTANT. * This position is responsible for spreading happiness through the delivery of baked goods from production areas.  The person in this position will be able to accurately follow bake shop and food service guidelines, and recipes and understand mixing/baking techniques. This person must understand the confidential nature of the recipes and maintain their discretion. This position is also responsible for recognizing and achieve standards of quality for both raw and finished products consistently by following proper sanitation guidelines

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS of this position include, but are not limited to:

  1. Safely operate dishwashing machines and small bakeshop production equipment
  2. Read and understand recipes; follow directions exactly
  3. Know the location of raw materials and ensure bins are filled daily
  4. Help maintain a continuous flow of clean production small wares in the bake shop (sheet trays, storage containers, etc.) and food service (pans, pots, trays, etc.)
  5. Follow daily cleaning schedule and adhere to safe food handling procedures
  6. Assist in keeping freezer and refrigerator clean and organized
  7. Responsible to "open" and "close" the bake shop according to checklists
  8. Develop knowledge about bakeshop products, their ingredients (our recipes are confidential), and their shelf life
  9. Help maintain a clean and organized baking area
  10. Understand and adhere to safe food handling procedures
  11. Check and record temperatures of freezer, cooler, and reach-in at designated times
  12. Help with wrapping, labeling, and storage of finished product
  13. Sweep and mop production areas at the end of assigned shifts

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate equipment, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to lift 50 pounds and frequently bend, walk, stoop, and kneel. The team member must be able to walk and stand on feet for up to an 8-hour shift. The team member must be able to walk up and down stairs while carrying up to 50 pounds. The team member must be able to push racks loaded with up to 200 pounds.  The team member must work with cleaning chemicals on a daily basis.
