R&D Tech@Lilly unites science with technology to accelerate the LRL (Lilly Research Laboratories) pipeline and deliver therapeutic innovations. As a member of the R&D Tech@Lilly organization, you will have the opportunity to work in a highly technical and fast-paced team in a scientifically challenging area responsible for clinical product delivery transformation agenda to support an ever-changing research and development environment.

Within Tech@Lilly, Product Delivery delivers critical systems and support to help speed innovation to patients through planning, manufacturing, packaging, distribution, and dispensation of the right product to the right patient at the right time, every time.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities for the Business Analyst - Tech@Lilly Supply Innovation will be focused on engaging with business partners, vendors, external service providers, and Tech@Lilly partners to enhance and maintain the value and stability of the Supply Innovation Tech@Lilly application portfolio.

Key Objectives and Deliverables: The following Roles are included in this position: Business Analyst (70%); Business Relationship Manager (10%); Project Management (Scrum Master) (20%)

Business Analyst

  • Understand business area processes, identify new opportunities, challenge the status quo, and help develop recommendations for using technology to improve business process productivity

  • Gain and apply a deep knowledge of how the applications enable and support key business processes

  • Gain and apply a deep knowledge of the application architecture, components, functions and features

  • In partnership with area architects, assess plan to manage and deliver application architecture initiatives.

  • Deliver a projects in alignment with stated business objectives related to time, cost, scope, and quality

  • Is accountable for ensuring appropriate IT solution delivery processes are incorporated within GIC

  • Provides effective guidance to project teams on how to design and implement solutions and tools for optimal business and vendor use

  • Uses standardized processes for requirements definition, analysis, design, construct, and test activities. .

  • Participates in the development of the Tech@Lilly Strategy for their area.

  • Solves problems while exhibiting judgment

  • Anticipates the implications of technical decisions on all parts of the PD portfolio, and influences life-cycle decisions accordingly

  • Ensures Lilly information assets are protected from malicious content and access to information is restricted to authorized personnel only

  • Anticipates the implications of technical decisions on regulatory compliance requirements and advises project teams and solution owners accordingly

  • Implements innovative approaches when integrating new technologies supporting business transformation

  • Supports and/or contributes to the design, development, and delivery of end user training and/or procedures

  • Anticipates the implications of technical decisions on project timelines

Business Relationship Manager

  • Build effective relationships with business partners to determine key business needs and influence the delivery of technology services and solutions.

  • Analyze and communicate status to multiple audiences. Build relationships with business partners by using strategic account management skills: research, listening, effective communication, and presentation.

Project Management (Scrum Master)

  • Establish clear project objectives (regarding scope, time, cost and quality), develops a plan of action to achieve those objectives, and finally, through application of standard project management practices, executes and oversees work activity to meet those objectives.

  • Is accountable for coordination of and assuring integration of all program components, including projects and establishing the program environment. This includes creating and integrating program management change control processes and establishing methodology standards for the program and standards for monitoring.

  • Drives and controls Program/Project Scope Management – including prioritizing projects within the program, initiating projects; planning, defining and verifying scope; and establishing and leading scope change control processes at the Program Level.

  • Assists in monitoring and controlling Project Cost Management – including resource planning and estimating, budgeting and controlling costs at the Program Level.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years demonstrated experience in Project Mgmt/Execution

  • 2+ years knowledge of the software development life cycle, spanning the entire lifecycle from project initiation to deployment, support, and retirement

  • Knowledge of SAP and interfaces for Supply Chain/Logistics

  • Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain/Logistics management

  • Knowledge of GMP compliance

  • Experience with Six Sigma and ITIL processes

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for these positions.

  • HS Diploma or equivalent

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Experience in leading product teams through transforming agile ways of working

  • Coding skills of any kind, ranging from web development to server-side software

  • Science knowledge, especially in biology or chemistry

  • Experience working in a highly regulated software delivery environment

  • SQL, SQL Developer, and Toad experience

  • Logistics and warehouse software and process experience, specifically HighJump or SAP

  • Project Management certification – PMI or similar

  • Knowledge and experience with current IT technologies

  • Experience with ITIL and key Tech@Lilly processes

  • Familiarity with Software Quality Assurance methods and techniques

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Excellent self-management skills

  • Demonstrated initiative to build relationships, learn new business processes and identify opportunities

  • Leadership abilities and ability to achieve results through others

  • Ability to influence peers
