What is the job about?

Peerless Pump Company, a Grundfos subsidiary, is seeking a Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. The Buyer is responsible for the sourcing related activities supporting a MTO/ETO pump manufacturing facility. This position reports directly our materials Manager and will operate out of the Indianapolis, IN facility in a hybrid function.

Relocation for this position cannot be supported and qualified candidates must have authorization to work in the USA without support.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the completion of daily tasks effecting Purchase order performance including, but not limited to ­

  • Purchase order submittals in SAP.

  • Follow up on demand vs supply.

  • ­Work with vendors to ensure on time delivery.

  • Reconcile supply/vendor related discrepancies.

  • Provide daily MRP transactions in SAP to ensure supply chain integrity and on-time delivery of purchased parts.

  • Interact with suppliers to communicate delivery expectations and ensure suppliers meet confirmed delivery.

  • Solicit quotes from approved suppliers.

  • Maintain material master records for assigned materials; ensure accurate material master, info records and source lists.

  • Resolve invoice discrepancies affected by pricing or delivery issues.

  • Involved in the resolution of defective or unacceptable goods or services, or delayed delivery of goods from vendors with Quality department.

  • Follow-up on return purchase orders to suppliers to collect credit on defective materials.

  • Maintain positive supplier relations.

  • Act as the primary interface between Sales and Production Control personnel.

  • Facilitate sales orders and subsequent supply repositioning.

Your background

We imagine that you have:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain or a related field, High school education with a minimum of 4 years relevant experience will be considered.

  • Minimum 2 years of successful tactical purchase

  • Highly organized and good at following up.

  • Will be required to communicate in a professional manner, with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • High time management skills with a sense of urgency.

  • Real computer skills (Excel, Word, Microsoft 365).

  • Thrives in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

  • Thorough and pays attention to detail.

  • Sound knowledge off and experience working with MRP.

  • Experience with MM and PP module in SAP preferred.

  • Experience from a manufacturing background preferred.

  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues.
