Description

Our high-growth client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks specific to real estate and lease accounting, contributing to the accuracy and efficiency of our financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

• Process real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and ongoing operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

• Prepare and analyze lease accounting data, including lease classification, recording, and depreciation, adhering to ASC 842 standards.

• Maintain accurate and detailed general ledger records for real estate assets and liabilities.

• Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

• Reconcile bank statements and other accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.

• Prepare various accounting schedules and reports related to real estate and leases.

• Assist with the preparation of tax filings related to real estate activities.

• Collaborate with other departments, such as property management and leasing, to ensure accurate financial data capture.

• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and relevant accounting standards for real estate and lease accounting.

  Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• 2+ years of experience in real estate and/or lease accounting.

• Understanding of GAAP and ASC 842 lease accounting standards.

• Proficient in accounting software like Microsoft Dynamics GP or Yardi Voyager.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
