Lilly Sr. Manager - Supply Chain Project Team Leader in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Supply Chain Project and Flavor Management Team at IDAP is responsible for coordinating and executing process improvement and flavor management processes. This team connects upstream process improvements and changes to the device assembly and packaging processes enabling growth and agility. The Team Leader is responsible for managing the project and flavor agenda for the site. This position will provide leadership within the Supply Chain Projects/Flavors for IDAP Logistics and also coordinate and facilitate projects.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Safety – Ensures that all work unit members are knowledgeable and compliant regarding safety procedures, policies, permits and practices. Initiates and leads accident, near miss reviews and incident notifications. Ensures proper housekeeping procedures are maintained. Drives safety culture to interdependence. The leader may also lead the local area safety team. Holds self and team accountable to safety expectations.

  • Quality – Responsible for quality standards as defined by cGMPs, the Global Quality Standards, local procedures, and manufacturing processes. Investigates and drives deviation events to approval. Establishes consistent expectations around quality and compliance including timely training completion, execution of change management processes, and understanding of regulatory requirements.

  • Manage People Effectively – Responsible for managing daily functional support, including attendance, project coverage, workload management, operational support, functional support, performance management, development planning and reporting of results. Drives inclusive culture and ensures appropriate training compliance. Servant leadership skills are expected.

  • Maintaining Functional Supply Chain Requirements – The leader is responsible for meeting the daily schedule / monthly production plan as impacted by the teams change control implementation. Responsible for the coordination and efforts with Global Supply Chain and the manufacturing network to maintain site readiness. Cross-functional coordination with the core project teams, launch leaders, master data, purchasing, planning, customer service, printed packaging development, operations, engineering, quality, and technical services as required.

  • Operational Excellence – A commitment to continuous improvement through data collection, evaluation, and prompt and effective implementation of CCI Lean coaching and resource use. The leader is expected to learn and utilize the Lilly provided tools associated with RIM, OSSCE, Trackwise Change Controls, Trackwise Deviations and associated CAPAs to be driven to implementation and continuous improvement. Manages improvement projects as directed by Supply Chain Senior Management.

  • Project Management – This role includes both leadership and individual contributor aspects. The Sr Manager is expected to lead a small team, and also allocate a portion of their time to leading and executing projects.

  • Other – Engage with leadership in all functional plant / departments to drive improvement efforts through involvement in projects and special teams as directed by the Supply Chain Director, and assist with business planning.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Safety First and Quality Always mindset

  • Pharmaceutical Supply Chain experience and knowledge

  • Knowledgeable of SAP, Trackwise, Microsoft Office Platforms, Power BI and adaptable to new software resources.

  • Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally multi-level within the organization

  • Ability to provide coaching and feedback

  • Ability to drive efficiency and effectiveness in daily work

  • Ability to prioritize, set objectives and meet targets

  • Ability to provide high-level customer service to all supported functions

  • Ability to learn / understand and use systems

  • Ability to work without close supervision

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals

Additional Preferences:

  • Previous experience in directly leading personnel or have a passion for people development and their success

  • Previous manufacturing experience

  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Mapping and Flavor Management

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

Other Information:

  • Position supports P-path personnel and is expected to be flexible in maintaining availability for support outside of normal work hours in decision making and issue resolution as necessary to operate the facility and maintain production needs throughout the year.
