Registered Dietitian

Location : Indianapolis, IN. This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of our Indianapolis, IN Elevance Health PulsePoint location.

The Registered Dietitian will be responsible for planning and conducting programs to educate patients about nutrition and administering medical nutrition therapy.

How you will make an impact:

• Conducts a nutrition assessment and obtains nutrition history from patient.

• Consults with physician and other health care personnel to determine patient's nutritional needs and diet restrictions.

• Plans therapeutic diets and implements preparation and service of meals for patients in hospital, clinic, or other healthcare facility.

• Instructs patients about the meal plan and dietary changes, and establishes goals and objectives to help meet the plan.

• Evaluates nutritional care and provides follow-up continuity of care.

• Documents nutrition care plans.

• Inspects meals served for conformance to prescribed diets.

• Instructs patients and their families in nutritional principles, dietary plans, food selection, and preparation.

• Educates staff on nutrition and diet therapy.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires BA/BS and minimum of 3 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Registered Dietitian in Indiana is required.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences :

• Strong background in LTSS or with the program population and experience with gastric tube feeding, weight loss, and prescribed diets is preferred.

• Expertise in enteral and parenteral nutrition is preferred.

• Proven interdisciplinary care team collaboration is preferred.

• Proficiency in Innovative Care Delivery is preferred.

• Extensive experience in Education and Training is preferred.
