Job Description
We are looking for an Emergency Management Specialist to assist in the coordination of emergency preparedness training courses and exercises requiring involvement from the Department of Health . This position will be full-time and hybrid.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate with DEP planning staff to ensure staff and external stakeholders are trained to the IDOH response plans
Assist in agency development of specific training and educational modules relative to agency plans
Assist in the development of an Integrated Preparedness Plan Workshop (IPPW) annually with partners and stakeholders
Assist partners in the development and delivery of trainings for internal staff and external stakeholders
Assist external partners with exercise evaluation and improvement planning
Stay updated on course offerings that are posted on Indiana's training enrollment and tracking system
Help to ensure division exercises follow an all-hazards and HSEEP consistent approach
Assist in ensuring that lessons learned and improvement plans resulting from exercises are communicated to appropriate staff so that they may be incorporated during updates to plans and procedures
Assist in Coordinating with DEP staff to ensure division plans are exercised and staff competencies are evaluated to ensure optimal functionality
Assist in providing technical assistance to Agency customers
Liaison with Healthcare Coalition leaders and Local Health Departments in order to foster a streamlined approach to scheduling training courses

Required:
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
Public Speaking skills
Excellent writing skills
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Proficiency with Office Suite
Willing to travel for training as necessary
Preferred:
- Healthcare or First Responder background
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
