Position Summary

The mission of the Marion County Community Corrections Agency is to improve the lives of people in our community. Our role is to provide community supervision, as an alternative to incarceration, using evidence-based practices and comprehensive case management.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for working in coordination with the Quality Assurance Coordinator to perform a variety of quality assurance responsibilities in order to fully implement system wide evidence-based practices (EBP) with case management, field work, court team, processing, operations center, custody, and all future developing agencies within Marion County Community Corrections (MCCC). Position is responsible for the selection, review, assistance, and implementation of programs for Marion County Community Corrections (MCCC). The incumbent assists in the day-to-day operations, training, and programming related to MCCC. Incumbent will need the ability to effectively identify and evaluate available data, to exercise sound judgment when evaluating requirements, productivity of team-members, and cost effectiveness of programs is required. The incumbent in this position assists with making decisions related to public or team-member safety, and accountability to records management, maintenance and retention, dissemination of customer information and administrative services. The incumbent operates within standards established by policies, procedures, and laws. Freedom to use judgment while assisting in policy formulation. This position reports to the Supervisor, Training & Accreditation.

Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the programming provided to MCCC clients.

  • Aids in implementing, updating, and enforcing and adhering to agency policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Responsible for ensuring policies and procedures are properly enforced and are consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including individual program fidelity.

  • Review and monitor client programs, schedule clients for programs, monitor client participation, and ensure client compliance to program rules and regulations.

  • Monitor client violations of program specifications and prepare statistical data and reports to summarize and evaluate program performance.

  • Ensure the implementation and adherence to evidence-based practices for Community Corrections

  • Ensure clients are referred to programming based upon criminogenic need or court order.

  • Utilize prosocial modeling in daily interactions with clients and team members and positive reinforcement to achieve repeat prosocial behavior.

  • Ensure cognitive behavioral programming is available for clients with criminogenic needs, taking into consideration the responsivity principle.

  • Ensure the implementation of continuous quality Improvement processes or plans for Community Corrections

  • Supervises work crews engaging in daily community clean-up and multiple community service projects in conjunction with local agencies.

  • This position transports and accompanies clients and residents throughout the completion of assignments regarding community initiatives and partnerships.

  • Maintains attendance and participation records of client work crews.

  • Assist supervisors in acting as a liaison or representative with stakeholders and the Department of Correction

  • Aid supervisors in preparing current and future needs assessments regarding training, programming, and vendors.

  • Serve in a training role by conducting comprehensive preparation, presentation, demonstration, practice, and coaching for residents and clients of MCCC.

  • Develop compliance with agency and court policy, additionally evaluation and follow-up to remain current with DOC standards.

  • Meet with supervisors on a regular basis to recommend agency changes as it relates to MCCC.

  • Keeps abreast of changes in supervision trends within the agency that could apply to fieldwork, office visits, assessments, processing, operations center, custody, computer applications, and case management.

  • Assist Supervisors with job assignments and responsibilities for new team members, this includes case management, operations center, processing, and custody.

  • Responsible for maintaining documentation on training and coaching hours.

  • Cross train with Training & Professional Development Coordinator and provide back up and assistance as it relates to training and accreditation requirements for staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field or two (2) years’ experience working in Corrections or the Criminal Justice System. In lieu of a college degree a combination of education, training, and experience may be considered. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Skilled in establishing cost effective programs and quality controls. Must have demonstrated knowledge in leadership, management, contracts, personnel, and process performance measurement. Knowledge of investigative principles and practices used in ensuring compliance with appropriate state and federal laws, regulations, and requirements of court evidence is required. Knowledge and ability to train, advise, and assist team members and the public in all aspects of the agency. Must be able to interface with the public regarding procedures, interpret, and explain. court decisions to clients and participate in municipal boards or committees as requested. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
