Corteva Agriscience Packaging Associate Specialist in Indianapolis, Indiana

Corteva Agrisciences has a great opportunity for a Packaging Engineering Specialist at the Indianapolis site.

In this role, you will define all packaging specification used in the region while ensuring that packaging design embed CORTEVA’s packaging Most Efficient Technologies (MET) and best practices which fulfill all internal and external customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the right to sell by monitoring packaging applicable regulations and implementing packaging solutions that comply with all applicable regulations and guidelines.

  • Support product launches by developing package specifications, assembly instructions, certifications, artwork templates and input on truck and container loading.

  • Provide support for storage stability studies.

  • Initiate and deliver low complex projects to standardize packaging components or optimize the cost of packaging while enhancing image, quality, sustainability and performance.

  • Design package components that will ensure user safety, product and environmental protection, optimize cost, waste reduction and ensure integration into production facilities.

  • Use creativity and knowledge of packaging technology to improve packaging cost and customer appeal. Work with marketing teams and customers to develop package design and anti-counterfeiting strategies, which meet or exceed customer expectations.

  • Provide technical coaching for other functions such as Artwork Development & Procurement, and work with Procurement to select and qualify packaging suppliers.

  • Provide directions to packaging suppliers on new and revised packaging specifications.

  • Work with internal & third-party manufacturing plants to support new product launches.

  • Provide technical input to resolve package quality problems arising in manufacturing or in the supply chain.

  • Provide consulting to logistics, distribution centers and plants on blocking, bracing & securing of finished products in trucks, containers and rail.

Skills

  • Minimum 2-3 years technical packaging experience in crop protection or related areas is desirable.

  • Expertise in analyzing data and agreeing on actionable, prioritized opportunity list with commercial and functional stakeholders.

  • Six Sigma certification and experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles and 5S is desirable.

  • Experience in the agricultural industry and with the regulations affecting agricultural products and chemical packaging and distribution is desirable.

  • Good problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and drive projects to completion (coordination, development and delivery). Demonstrated significant involvement in designing studies, carrying out experiments, interpreting data, etc. to meet project milestones

  • Strong interpersonal, proactiveness and leadership skills

  • Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders from multiple backgrounds.

  • Ability to work in a matrix organization

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to summarize the results in a report, deliver presentations and proactively communicates results and progress to technical teams, supervision, and stakeholders.

  • A solid track record of documentation

  • Experience and familiarity with design and development of packaging.

  • Ability to travel as required.
