Looking to take the next step in your accounting career? Check out this fantastic opportunity for a Grant Staff Accountant through Accountemps at a dynamic firm in the Government industry. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliations, grants reporting, and general ledger reconciliation. When it's time for the monthly close, you'll be responsible for various aspects of internal and grant reporting. You will also participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and look over schedules for the reporting processes. A good deal of time in this position will be spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. A work from home position based in the Indianapolis, Indiana area, this company is offering a short-term temporary opportunity that's sure to challenge as well as reward effort.
How you will make an impact as Staff Accountant:
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Complete month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Partake in annual closing processes
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Requirements
Ability to meet deadlines
Excellent Command of Microsoft Excel
Experience working with nonprofit and government entities
Solid understanding of grant accounting is a must
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Great attention to detail
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Proficient with Excel spreadsheets and databases
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
