The role of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Intern is intended to start in Summer (May) 2025.

An internship is a temporary position within 3M. Interns typically work a full-time schedule throughout a 10-12 week assignment. This position is limited to working 899 hours per service credit year.
This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military environments to a 3M career.

As an EHS Intern, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
Assisting with completing the 2025 Noise Dosimetry
Assisting with completing the 2025 Chemical Exposure Monitoring
Assisting with completing the Chemical Labeling Audit
Updating the Confined Space Log and Process to Mitigate
Updating Emergency Procedures & Written Program
Updating the plant’s SDS
Performing other duties as assigned.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who must have the following qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
Current cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale
Completed at minimum freshman year (2 semesters) by the start of the internship
Previously completed an internship/co-op with 3M or another manufacturing company
Previous work experience in a manufacturing setting
Demonstrated communication skills - both verbal and written
Demonstrated leadership and coordination skills
Exhibits initiative and is proactive in problem-solving
Maintain confidential and restricted information
Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office Products and Internet Explorer
Experience working with cross-functional teams
Knowledge of statistical software programs
Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
Work Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
