Description: An Entry Level Controls Engineer job is currently available at Belcan in Indianapolis. This is a full-time, direct job with full benefits. You will be a key team member who supports projects related to engine controls systems and/or software for airborne platforms.

Job Summary

Many of the opportunities will include:

· Design artifact generation and creation, including the ability to develop templates, export requirements, manage requirements and design information from the applicable database(s), typically using a DOORS database and/or the IBM RPE (Rational Publishing Engine). The engineer also supports the requirements flow down, traceability and linking between child/parent datasets.

· Develop and execute test cases in a simulation environment, analyze and present data, validate control functionality, and document results

· Support design and development of new controls products throughout the product lifecycle. Use your skills and expertise to define, design, develop, test, certify and improve cutting-edge software products.

· Perform debugging/troubleshooting of systems and software throughout the development process

· Develop and execute comprehensive tests at the Unit, Integrated, and Functional Test levels to ensure compliance with requirements and adherence to design.

· Support integration of various systems components and data products to ensure a robust software system. Including configuration management of the system components

· Collaborate and act as an interface between controls engineers, software developers, and customers.

Required Qualifications:

· Bachelor's or master"s degree in mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or a related field

· High attention to detail to be able to work both independently and effectively within a team environment.

· Aptitude for computers, software, and scripting languages.

· Experience using office software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook

· Experienced with scripting, scripting principles, and scripting languages (Python, Perl, "homegrown" language, etc.)

· Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly.

· Ability to work in a hybrid work environment including virtual teams

· Self-motivated and highly organized contributor willing to help others be successful - as a key team member you will earn responsibility, accountability to the team, and enjoy job satisfaction.

· Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to be inquisitive and highly communicative are critical to your success in this role to enable team engagement, and team representation to customers and stakeholders (verbal and non-verbal forms of communication).

· Ability to travel periodically-up to 25%

· Due to the nature of the work performed, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Basic knowledge of requirements databases and/or software development tools, such as Matlab/Simulink, LabView, DOORS, etc., may be helpful but is not required.

· Understanding of control theory concepts and components, such as closed-loop control, sensors, actuators, feedback, signal conditioning, failure detection, microcontrollers, processor scheduling and timing, embedded software, data analysis techniques, and testing methods.

· Willingness to work off-shift hours on occasion.

· Interest in aviation and/or aerospace applications.

We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $65,000 to $75,000. Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline.
