Job Description:

Parsons is now hiring for a Drainage Engineer II to work on major infrastructure & transportation projects in the East-Central Region (Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, etc.). This is a rare opportunity to become part of a growing group focusing on sustainable drainage practices , including pre and post-construction stormwater management/low impact development/green infrastructure and have a positive impact on the communities in which we work.

In this role you will be primarily engaged in the hydrologic and hydraulic design and analysis of all aspects of transportation and major infrastructure projects , including storm drainage networks, culverts, detention and retention facilities, grading, and erosion and sediment control, with a special emphasis on post-construction stormwater management measures.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Working independently and within a team on the preparation of engineering drawings, construction details and technical specifications on a wide variety of transportation and major infrastructure projects

  • Performing hydrology calculations, grading, erosion and sediment control, design and hydraulic modeling of storm drainage networks, culverts and detention facilities with a special emphasis on pre- and post-construction stormwater management measures/low impact development/green infrastructure and hydraulic modeling of these systems

  • Preparing detailed Drainage Reports, SWPPP reports and other technical reports and documentation required for permitting and construction of projects

  • Preparing project take-offs and materials estimates for construction cost estimates

  • Providing support for other engineering activities, as required, and may supervise one or more team members including CAD designers/drafters, lower-level engineers and interns working on the same project(s)

What Qualifications You'll Bring:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

  • 5+ years of related work experience in drainage/hydrology

  • Engineering-in-Training (EIT) License

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred

  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, including Hydraflow & SSA Extensions, Microstation InRoads or OpenRoads, StormCAD, PondPack, FlowMaster, EPA-SWMM, HY-8, HEC-HMS and other H&H software typically associated with drainage engineering, is preferable

Salary Range:

$70,500.00 - $145,800.00
