What You Will Do :
We are currently searching for a Careers Scientific Program Analyst. This position supports ORWH’s Careers section by promoting and coordinating trans-NIH efforts for promoting women in biomedical careers, women’s health research, sex differences research, biomedical workforce engagement and development, diversity, equity and inclusion programs, and other careers-related research activities. The individual must have the ability to design and develop descriptive and analytic summaries and evaluations of activities, including developing statistical analysis plans, conducting portfolio/bibliometric analyses/workforce trend analyses, and drafting and presenting results. This a full time remote opportunity supporting the NIH office located in Bethesda, MD.
Provide logistical, analytical, and program support for the NIH Working Group on Women in Biomedical Careers and any of its working groups (support for the Executive Secretary, Partnerships committee, Extramural Committee, Intramural Committee, Women of Color Committee, and other future committees).
Gain proficiency in using and monitoring the DPCPSI Cofounding Dashboard and interacting with other parties responsible for the DPCPSI Cofounding Dashboard.
Organize the review of supplement applications for suitability for ORWH co-funding, as directed by federal supervisor.
Perform background research, develop coding manuals for analysis of the responses, code responses, design and conduct the analysis of the data, and composition of narrative explanatory text related to analyses, preparation of figures, charts and reports, synthesize results and package in synopses suitable for dissemination of results in abbreviated and comprehensive forms and other activities.
Participate in frequent discussions regarding program activities to inform and address issues that have been identified. Generate meeting summaries and action items.
Provide program management support to the Project Officers and Administrators of the Careers Section, especially as it pertains to the evaluation of the ORWH activities, supplements, and programs.
Develop, perform and/or provide feedback and quality assurance on the conceptualization, implementation, and analysis of evaluations.
Develop productive working relationships with ORWH and other NIH staff to promote input on and coordination of trans-NIH efforts in women in biomedical careers, women's health research, SABV, diversity, inclusion, and other research activities.
Review supplement applications for alignment with ORWH strategic goals and other suitability criteria as requested.
Organize, track, monitor, consolidate results from, and perform other tasks necessary to ensure that supplement applications are reviewed in a timely manner for co-funding by ORWH.
Conduct, on an annual basis, data collection from ICs related to the supplements, including but not limited to development or refinement of data collection instruments, solicitation of data from ICs, tracking of responses, ensuring completeness of responses, filling in missing data, entering data into databases, archiving datasets, ensuring data security, and other related tasks as needed.
Provide accurate, up-to-date information on supplements, including extraction, quality assurance, and entry of data from multiple NIH databases and other sources of data.
Track, conduct quality and correctness checks, create, and enter information into the funding database, and provide management support for the supplements submitted to ORWH for co-funding, under the guidance of the assigned federal officer.
Perform logistical planning for various scientific meetings, conference calls, symposia, lectures, workshops and special projects.
Draft, review and proofread programmatic documents, such as conference agendas, meeting agendas, letters to presenters, participant lists, handouts, emails, thank you letters and reports.
Coordinate with strategic project leaders on the logistics annual in-person Committee meetings, monthly teleconferences or videoconferences, and additional teleconferences, videoconferences or electronic reviews to address key issues.
Organize, support, and facilitate internal NIH meetings, as necessary.
Provide project management support for large and/or complex projects with internal and external stakeholders and other project participants.
Analyze qualitative and quantitative data such as related to Requests for Information, Listening Sessions, Think Tanks, or other data generation activities.
Monitor, report, and assist in tracking NIH ICs support, including data entry, communications with program officers, as needed.
Ad hoc development of PowerPoint and other presentations to be used at public, federal and internal in- person and online meetings.
Conduct background research, support, and develop presentations/other materials for dissemination outside NIH.
Produce professional reports and requested products by or ahead of the deadlines.
Track action items and tasks; provide deadline reminders to staff; maintain spreadsheets of relevant information for grants, contracts and other programs.
Collaborate with staff to plan and carry out special studies and analyses of the research portfolios.
Contribute to development of peer-reviewed scientific publications. Complete other task assignments from the Associate Director of the Careers Section or the ORWH Director as requested.
Develop and maintain database and website content related to scientific programs.
Develop, update, and maintain information databases (e.g. SharePoint sites); provide document retrieval support.

The annual salary range for this position is $65,900.00-$98,900.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
