As a member of the Enterprise Communications Team, the Business & Innovation Content Lead will be responsible for developing and implementing an owned content strategy that showcases Corteva's leadership in research & development as a driver of innovation in seed, crop protection and emerging ag technologies, including gene editing. Scientists and researchers at Corteva are laser focused on delivering new tools and technology that will help produce more food with fewer resources and contribute to a thriving global economy that supports farmers and rural communities. Creating and amplifying content that highlights these contributions—while emphasizing the value they bring to farmers, customers, employees and shareholders—will be the central objective for the Business & Innovation Content Lead.

Hybrid work environment. Preferred geography: Indianapolis or Des Moines.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive owned content strategy designed to showcase Corteva's business and innovation, while advancing advocacy initiatives aimed at accelerating global adoption of new agricultural tools and technology.

  • Proactively shape an editorial calendar to drive a consistent cadence of communication regarding Corteva innovation across a variety of platforms (including, but not limited to, web content, blog content, video production, social media, earned thought leadership content, etc.)

  • Collaborate with colleagues across public affairs—including within media relations, social media, and government & industry affairs—to create holistic platforms and activations that showcase Corteva innovation.

  • In concert with the Director of Enterprise Communications, develop and maintain messaging and key proof points regarding the impact of Corteva innovation.

  • Manage and guide agency partners when activating content strategy.

  • Lead and support ad hoc communications projects and activities.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree. Communications degree preferred.

What Skills You'll Need:

  • Experienced communications professional with 7+ years of experience supporting communications, public relations, and/or marketing efforts within multi-faceted organizations.

  • Previous experience working with the R&D functions preferred.

  • Effective collaborator, facilitating conversations to coach and guide stakeholders.

  • Strong news judgement.

  • Ability to effectively communicate complex, scientific topics into compelling public-facing narratives.

  • Ability to drive purposefulness, efficiency, effectiveness, and enthusiasm across work activities.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Results driven; ability to successfully execute and manage through ambiguity.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to quickly adapt to changing needs.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - with experience writing across multiple channels (social, web, blog, talking points, etc).

  • Ability to successfully navigate challenging opportunities to meet objectives and deadlines; solves complex problems with minimal guidance.

  • Strategic mindset that fosters innovative, creative thinking.

  • Experience influencing and consulting with internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to keep information discreet and confidential.

  • Fluent in English.

  • Ability to travel, when necessary.

  • Ability to work outside of standard office hours, when necessary.
