Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet demand | Follows established procedures for operating various manufacturing equipment | Sets up equipment feeding, speed and temperature for optimal performance | Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing | Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations | Responsibilities are within the Manufacturing/Operations Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions. The following duties and responsibilities are to be performed accurately, efficiently, within Company safety and Quality System standards, within specified time frames and as needed.
Changeover, operate, load/unload, and maintain automated systems to including robots, machine vision, HMI, etc within defined standard work.
Complete periodic checks on equipment and creatively and efficiently solve problems as detected
Collaborate with materials, maintenance and engineering to ensure timely detection, troubleshooting and repair of faulty automated systems
Support implementation of process improvements under guidance of process/controls engineering including programming, error proofing, etc.
Understand and ensure commitment to the safety guidelines within the manufacturing floor and across the plant
Troubleshoot automated system faults to support operations efficiency and quality including minor programming adjustments within defined standard work and under engineering oversite. Ability to apply problem solving techniques, previous experience preferred.
Collect data to facilitate and actively problem solve improvements on automated and support systems
Organized with strong sense of urgency. Ability to establish work priorities and effectively manage work with minimal supervision. Perform tasks within the required timeframes.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills. Ability to communicate in a professional, positive, courteous manner with all levels of customers, clients, vendors, and employees.
Train and assist employees in working with automated systems including robots, sensors, vision, and machines.• Monitor and expedite flow of material through the automated cells.• Communicate within department and all external areas as needed to satisfy business needs.• Communicate with the Production Team Leader on recurring problems with automated systems, work with systems, and material availability, staffing concerns, and other related issues which affect safety and quality.• Produce and maintain records using written records and computers. Systems include, but not limited to, Vision systems, Pack to quality, Universal robots, word, excel, and Outlook e-mail.
What You Need to Succeed:
Experience with robotic, vision system, automation, and pack to quality systems or ability to learn
Experience with windows, apps and other computer operating systems
Ability to learn product and finish requirements as it relates to area of automation
1 year operations/manufacturing experience
Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods
Basic math, robotics, low voltage, and communication skills

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Related to only production and only under the general direction of the Production Team Leader/Area Supervisor. Does not have supervisory responsibility or authority in the areas of personnel actions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of employees, peers, managers, and customers.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; sit; use hands to manipulate component parts, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance. Ability to bend, twist, kneel, stoop, or crouch. Ability to reach above shoulder height. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust. Ability to sit and/or stand for a minimum of 10 hours.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Basic robotic programming, ability to read basic electrical schematics, basic blueprint reading, hand tools, and multimeter.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Below are the minimum requirements for this position.
High school diploma or GED and 1 year experience in the process area in which group leader position exists and working knowledge of area processes and job content. Preferred: Associates degree in robotics, automation, controls and/or maintenance. Technical certification, and/or robotic operational experience.
