SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Auditor is responsible for performing Internal and External Quality Assurance Audits of the repair station and its vendors, to ensure compliance with processes, policies, procedures and quality standards. The Quality Assurance Auditor must be appropriately certified per CFR 145.153 and 145.161

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviewing Customer procedures for specific guidance or requirements for aircraft inspection/maintenance documentation.

  • Perform scheduled and nonscheduled surveillance audits of the Repair Station to ensure compliance with CFR’s and AAR procedures.

  • Audit aircraft maintenance records and documentation to ensure airworthiness standards and inspection procedures are followed.

  • Post inspection, in-progress, and pre-departure audits to ensure AAR Quality Standards are maintained.

  • Internal system, shop, and ramp audits ensuring compliance with all aspects of this manual and providing to the Manager Quality of Assurance notification of non-compliance.

  • Maintain AAR's Approved Vendors List (AVL).

  • Perform on-site Vendor audits to assure compliance with AAR Quality Standards.

  • Conduct assigned internal audits to ensure compliance with applicable CFR's, the RSQM and other AAR quality standards.

  • Maintain Quality Assurance internal audit files.

  • Complete all paperwork in accordance with the procedures outlined in the RSQM.

  • Maintain the work area in a clean and safe manner.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • FAA A&P License required.

  • Minimum 5 years quality experience or equivalent, and exposure to aircraft and component overhaul operations required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate’s degree (A.S.) from an accredited college or university specializing in Aviation Maintenance or a minimum of eight years related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have experience in the application of investigative skills and root cause analysis. Candidate must have a background in Inspection and/or Quality Assurance. Candidate must be familiar with Safety Management System (SMS) and C.A.S.E. The ability to communicate effectively both orally and written is required.
