Position Summary:

The Associate Director- M&Q Talent Acquisition shares our passion to make an impact on the lives of candidates, teams and ultimately patients. As part of the Talent Acquisition team, the Associate Director supporting Manufacturing & Quality will engage directly with leaders and HR partners to shape Lilly’s future by identifying and attracting extraordinary and diverse talent to the company. The Associate Director role requires a thorough understanding of the business and client needs, specific knowledge and data from the industry and labor markets and the innovation necessary to execute an aggressive talent acquisition strategy for critical capabilities supporting Lilly Manufacturing & Quality. This role will need to act as an advisor to the hiring managers and help coach and mentor other recruiters as it relates to quality and consistency of the work product and adherence to the Talent Acquisition global standards. The Associate Director will actively participate in projects and strategic initiatives. This role will need to have demonstrated influential strategic advising with an emphasis on strong business acumen and data driven decision. Robust pipeline management across a multitude of different areas of discipline to support the business needs the ability to strategically source extraordinary, diverse talent. The Associate Director will also need to have solid process optimization to react with speed and accuracy but keep the business compliant and within global standards.

Strategic Advising

  • Business Acumen: Understands Manufacturing and Quality strategic vision and workforce planning strategy across all sites and business areas.

  • Site-Specific Business Acumen: Understands, clearly articulates, and demonstrates how their work helps achieve the business objectives, operations, financial goals, and competitive position. Identify new ways to incorporate how Manufacturing and Quality’s mission, values, and leadership expectations into their daily work.

  • Strategic Discussion with Leaders and Hiring Managers: Understands the talent needs of the hiring managers when opening a requisition. Works closely with hiring managers and leaders and assists them in creating a diverse, multi-level supervisory organization.

  • Understanding Role Requirements: Understand the skills and abilities required for several functions (i.e., quality, supply chain, engineering, manufacturing). Assists hiring managers to confirm OFCCP job descriptions adhering to job profiles/ descriptors/ leveling guides. Applies knowledge when confirming job descriptions.

  • Ensures talent acquisition processes, guidelines and policies are compliant and followed. Applies judgment and influence with hiring managers to minimize risk to the organization.

Pipelining Management

  • Candidate Care:

  • Assessment/Selection: Ability to assess potential applicant/candidate quality, skills and competencies and identify the best candidate for a position.

  • Conversion: Ability to influence and encourage prospects and candidates; providing coaching to external candidates by understanding their motivations and decision criteria to move to a new role. Ability to convert a prospective candidate to an applicant and influence their decision the career opportunity is a step forward in achieving their career aspirations.

  • Interaction: Ability to maintain effective relationships with candidates throughout the recruiting process and build on the relationship to identify additional talent. Continue to maintain relationship and be a resource to candidate post hire.

  • Sourcing Expertise:

  • Labor Market Expertise: Knowledgeable of the labor market in which the Associate Director recruits and uses labor market expertise to support recruiting decisions and recommendations. Integrates labor market expertise from government sites and labor market analytical tools and provides market insights in developing a recruiting strategy. Understand the competitive ecosystem and talent profiles to be able to adjust and creatively source talent

  • Lead Generation: Ability to identify and maintain a diverse talent pipeline in anticipation of future needs. Leverages the LinkedIn, ERGs, Campus programs, Lilly referrals and all talent acquisition supported initiatives to build a diverse talent pipeline.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Using the right channels and messages to find targeted sources of high-quality candidates, leverages the latest digital technologies to locate, engage, and attract prospective candidates.

Process Optimization

  • Recruiting Process: Knowledge and skills for implementing recruiting processes, leveraging Workday and other platforms

  • Evaluates profiles of potential candidates and performs phone screen assessments; screens all candidates for availability, interest level, relocation needs and basic qualifications.

  • Delivers a compliant requisition dispositioning candidate properly and uploading a completed interview summary and candidate rating.

  • Ability to identify inefficacies and hold-ups are in the recruiting process and how to remove, circumnavigate or solve them effectively.

  • Participates and assists on Talent Acquisition project work steams.

  • Manage relationships with third party recruiting service providers as necessary

Position Requirements

Basic Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition or Talent Management

  • 5+ years of experience in or supporting Manufacturing or Quality

  • Data Analytics: Strong data analytics, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills

  • Business Acumen: Effective problem-solving and analytical skills to resolve organizational or operational problems. Ability to translate complex situations into the essence of the problem and determine requirements.

  • Cross Functional Collaboration and Influence: Demonstrated experience working across functional/geographical boundaries effectively to achieve business outcomes. Ability to learn the interdependencies and needs of the business units/functions. Ability to influence others from different cultures, levels, and background.

  • Adaptability/Learning Agility: Ability to adapt quickly to complex situations, learn while doing, and navigate through ambiguity effectively.

  • Knowledge, understanding and application of employment related regulations (EEO, AAP, OFCCP).

  • Strong interpersonal, oral, presentation and written communication skills

  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills

  • Experience with Workday HCM system, LinkedIn, Indeed, social media platforms, CAP and strong skills in Microsoft Office Products. Solid experience in utilizing reporting functionality in different systems.

  • Travel as required, approximately 20%
