Organization Overview:

The Indianapolis Parenteral Manufacturing (IPM) Site manufactures sterile injectable commercial and commercialization products in vial, cartridge, and pre-filled syringe formats with Safety First and Quality Always. The Associate Director - Engineering sets strategies and objectives for their area within IPM. They partner with other leaders cross-functionally to influence and implement the organization’s functional agenda, business plan priorities, and quality plan objectives for the site. They are responsible for developing employees as necessary to meet these business requirements.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Develop, mentor, coach, and recognize employees within their organization.

  • Develop and implement business plan objectives

  • Track team performance in carrying out and completing objectives

  • Staff the team with personnel capable of meeting business needs and objectives

  • Build and drive safety and quality culture within organization

  • Remove barriers that impact team performance

  • Provide technical input/support

  • Develop local processes and procedures in accordance with the FUME system

  • Assure an adequate number of qualified resources to perform asset management processes

  • Meet the requirements of the FUME System through execution of local processes and procedures.

  • Ensure equipment is properly maintained in a qualified state for reliable supply of medicine

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering required.

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals.

  • Recognized strong team leadership skills

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (both oral and written)

  • Strong talent development skills, especially coaching and people development

  • Solid regulatory compliance knowledge (GMP, OSHA, etc.)

  • Understanding of equipment reliability

Additional Preferences:

  • Previous supervisory/leadership experience

  • Experience with regulatory inspections

  • Previous pharmaceutical experience, preferably within a Parenteral Manufacturing setting

Other Information:

  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • Off-hours work and phone calls may be required.
