Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Benefits/FMLA Management Specialist to join our client's Human Resources team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in benefits administration and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) management. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless management of employee benefits and FMLA processes during a period of transition or increased workload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Benefits Administration:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans.

  • Process benefits enrollments, changes, and terminations.

  • Address employee inquiries regarding benefits, eligibility, and coverage.

  • Coordinate with benefits providers to resolve issues and ensure accurate billing.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefits regulations and plan changes.

  • FMLA Management:

  • Oversee FMLA requests and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

  • Manage the FMLA leave process, including documentation, tracking, and communication with employees.

  • Collaborate with employees and managers to facilitate smooth transitions before, during, and after FMLA leave.

  • Maintain accurate records of FMLA leave and ensure proper documentation and confidentiality.

  • Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to employee benefits and FMLA.

  • Prepare and submit required reports and documentation.

  • Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation to auditors.

  • Employee Communication:

  • Provide clear and timely information to employees regarding benefits and FMLA policies and procedures.

  • Conduct informational sessions or webinars as needed to educate employees about benefits and FMLA.

  • Administrative Support:

  • Assist with updating and maintaining employee benefits records and databases.

  • Prepare and process benefit-related paperwork and documentation.

  • Support HR team with other related tasks and projects as needed.

    Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in benefits administration and FMLA management.

Proven experience with benefits software and HRIS systems.

Familiarity with federal and state benefits regulations, including FMLA, ADA, and ERISA.
