Robert Half Accounting Manager in Indianapolis, Indiana

Description

We are in need of an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is vital in overseeing the revenue process, from reviewing and approving monthly journal entries related to revenues, collections, and adjustments, to managing the accrued and deferred revenue functions. The successful candidate will also have a hand in executing revenue accounting processes and controls for the company.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the review and approval of monthly journal entries related to revenues, collections, and adjustments

• Manage the accrued revenue and deferred revenue functions, including monthly calculations and journal entry preparation

• Review and approve account and bank reconciliations for all professional corporations and supported offices

• Handle the exception analysis process on outstanding reconciling items, ensuring timely correction of cash postings by local offices

• Act as the Subject Matter Expert with the financial/analytical tools used by the Accounting and Finance team

• Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of process or system improvements in accounting and finance functions within the revenue cycle process

• Execute revenue accounting processes and controls with a focus on analytical review, scalability, and automation

• Provide training, guidance, and constructive feedback to direct reports in relation to financial systems, standard operating procedures, and work assignments

• Administer all functions with respect to the financial accountants reporting to this position.

*this can be a remote role for candidates within two hours from Indianapolis

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting Manager/Supervisor role or similar.

• Ability to analyze and interpret financial statements.

• Proficient knowledge of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

• Experience with month-end close processes.

• Skilled in account reconciliation and ensuring accurate financial records.

• CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certification is preferred.

• Previous experience working in a Big 4 Accounting Firm is desirable.

• Proficiency in MS Excel, including the use of complex formulas, pivot tables, and other advanced functions.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
