Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Transportation Construction Inspector in Indiana, Pennsylvania

As part of this role, you will provide support to a bridge inspection team leader by carrying out various technical tasks related to the examination of bridges and other structures, following the guidelines set by the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS). Your responsibilities will include conducting safety inspections on existing bridges, assessing the condition of bridge structural elements, foundations, supports, and other components.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Indiana. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three years of experience in highway or bridge surveying, design, construction, or inspection work;  or Three years of experience in quality control of materials or building or construction industry experience, which includes reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, or schematics; ; or One year as an Engineering Technician (commonwealth title); or Two years as a Transportation Technician or Construction Cost Technician 1 (commonwealth titles); or One year of construction inspection experience, and an associate's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, geotechnical engineering, surveying engineering technology, or a closely related engineering technology; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement: This position requires possession of an active non-commercial Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License or equivalent. Post Employment Requirement: National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) certification - must be certified within 12 months of hire date.
