S & T Bank Deposit Collections Specialist I in Indiana, Pennsylvania

Work Days and Expected Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00PM (Additional hours as necessary to meet the objectives of the department).

Function: Assumes various administrative duties in support of the Bank's deposit collection function.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assumes responsibility for ensuring the optimum efficiency & effectiveness of the department by assisting with the implementation of departmental goals, strategies, and operating policies and procedures.

Initiates and manages collections procedures on overdrawn Deposit accounts (Consumer and Business) by telephone, mail and email.

Researches and resolves problems with customer concerning collection of accounts. Answers telephone calls from customers requesting payoff; suggests possible ways of getting account back to positive basis, or setting up a monthly billing option.

Works closely with account officers and/or managers to coordinate collection activities.

Prepares documentation required for collection activities.

Coordinates monthly billings and notices for consumer accounts.

Prepares and files magistrate judgments as required.

Turns accounts over to Collection Agency after internal collection efforts have been exhausted.

Creates and maintains accurate and complete records for each case worked to ensure a thorough audit trail of all collection efforts.

Process charge-off accounts based on Trakker reports.

Report charge off activity to ChexSystems.

Maintains a good working relationship with all bank employees. Demonstrates the ability to work independently. Works as a team player to contribute to the success of the department and in turn the organization.

Performs additional duties as required.

Physical Demands

Operates a keypad device: 87% of the day; operates electronic equipment: 87% of the day; operates office equipment: 87% of the day. Sitting is required 87% of the day. Performs daily tasks with the use of manual dexterity skills for both typing and filing on frequent basis up to 60% of the business day. Must be able to focus visually at a close distance of 18"-20" for a period of up to 40% of the business day.

Education

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent basic academic education.

Experience

Up to 1 year general experience required.

Salary Range:

$15.00 - $24.04
