Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Location: Independence, Missouri (Kansas City area)

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you'll be responsible for providing nursing services to patients in residential care facilities, behavioral health, and/or substance use disorder treatment programs. You'll work to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for clients and provide support through various nursing duties across outpatient psychiatry, addiction, and housing services. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications to clients via various methods according to service line requirements

  • Perform nursing assessments, including physical, mental health, and psychiatric screeners

  • Document medication administration and nursing assessments accurately and completely

  • Conduct MAR reviews, daily medication counts, monitor house stock, and prepare pass medications

  • Communicate with clients regarding medication questions and needs, staging refill requests

  • Room clients, verify data and medical history, confirm visit purpose, and obtain preliminary requirements

  • Complete all required documentation in a timely manner, including assessments, interventions, groups, and safety plans

  • Ensure medical and medication records are up-to-date and accurate

  • Function as a resource for nursing and medical issues, overseeing infectious disease control and client health

  • Participate in required meetings and perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in accurately entering, transcribing, recording, and storing information

  • Able to assess and provide feedback on programs and services

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to convey complex ideas clearly and respectfully

  • Committed to maintaining confidentiality and protecting sensitive information

  • Adept at reading and interpreting various types of documents, including laboratory results and electronic health records

  • Skilled at writing clear, effective, and respectful routine reports and correspondence

  • Competent in basic mathematical calculations

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, ability to understand and follow instructions, and adapt to new situations

  • Willingness to learn, grow, and work collaboratively with others, embracing diverse perspectives

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of practice

  • Graduation from an accredited practical nurse program
