Shift: Monday-Friday (8:00am – 5:00 pm CST)

As a Community Support Services Supervisor, your primary responsibilities encompass managing staff, ensuring effective service delivery, maintaining regulatory compliance, fostering clear communication, facilitating continuous learning, managing finances, leveraging data insights, and proactively addressing risk management. You lead a team dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities or other challenges by enabling independent living and full participation within their communities. Your role involves recruiting, training, and guiding direct support professionals and case managers while upholding legal, regulatory, and ethical standards. Additionally, you serve as a liaison between the organization, clients, families, and other stakeholders, encouraging open dialogue and collaboration. By emphasizing ongoing education, carefully stewarding resources, employing data analysis, and diligently safeguarding against potential risks, you contribute significantly to enhancing both operational excellence and client wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management: The Community Support Services Supervisor hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates the performance of direct support professionals, case managers, and other staff members who provide services to clients. They create work schedules, assign tasks, and address personnel issues as needed.

  • Service Delivery: The Community Support Services Supervisor ensures that the team delivers person-centered, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive services that meet clients' individualized needs and preferences. They monitor service delivery, identify gaps or areas for improvement, and make recommendations for change.

  • Compliance: The Community Support Services Supervisor ensures that all services comply with relevant laws, regulations, and standards, such as those related to Medicaid waivers, accreditation requirements, and licensing rules. They maintain accurate records, conduct audits, and respond promptly to compliance issues or complaints.

  • Communication: The Community Support Services Supervisor communicates regularly with clients, families, advocates, and other stakeholders to gather feedback, resolve conflicts, and build trust. They represent the organization in community meetings, conferences, and events, and foster positive relationships with local partners.

  • Training and Development: The Community Support Services Supervisor promotes ongoing learning and professional development opportunities for staff members, such as workshops, webinars, and coaching sessions. They encourage staff to obtain certifications, licenses, or degrees related to their job duties, and recognize exceptional performance through awards or promotions.

  • Data Collection and Analysis: The Community Support Services Supervisor collects and analyzes data on program outcomes, satisfaction rates, and cost-effectiveness. They use this information to inform decision making, set goals, and measure progress toward achieving desired results.

  • Risk Management: The Community Support Services Supervisor identifies potential risks or hazards associated with service provision and takes steps to mitigate or eliminate them. They establish safety protocols, emergency preparedness plans, and incident reporting systems, and investigate incidents thoroughly to prevent future occurrences.

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or related field preferred OR..

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or other related human services specialized field of study WITH 3 years experience providing community support services specific to an identified population.

• Preferred experience in providing family, individual, and group therapy, as well as community education.

Additional Qualifications:

• A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
