Aerotek Welder in Independence, Iowa
Now Hiring 2st shift MIG Welders!
Job Duties:
- We are hiring MIG welders of all levels. We are looking for candidates ranging from entry-level to those with AWS certification, all the way up to very experienced welders. If you are an entry-level candidate, you will start with tacking off production and gradually move onto the floor for fabrication with all work being inspected. You will need to take a weld test, which includes reading a blueprint and performing a math test (including fractions). The welding work will primarily involve steel, and TIG experience is a plus. Ideal candidates will have experience in tank and structural welding.
Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding on structural steel
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
Conduct basic math calculations including fractions
Operate machinery and drive a forklift
Lift up to 50 lbs as necessary
Engage in custom fabrication tasks such as metal breaking, welding, painting, and CNC operations
Collaborate with engineering firms to design and fabricate new builds
Inspect and ensure the quality of welds
Hours/Shift/Pay
6am - 2:45pm
Pay ranges from $20-$25 based on experience and weld test
Pay is weekly

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $25.00
