Job Description

Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on a full-time basis

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

Develop Plans and Schedules; Prepare & Conduct test; Report ADV Status; Support Quality Processes; Collect and Submit Best Practices, Lessons Learned and customer surveys. Support ADV process to reduce Hardware and to realize RLM (Road- Lab-Math) strategy; Lead Export validation activities in foreign countries with local partners; Support Vehicle Validation - Type Approval Activities. Lead work with internal and external customers and suppliers; participate in Problem Solving Teams; participate in DFMEA work groups; Build and Lead Vehicle and/or Commodity ADV Sub-plans. Review Program/Process Results; Analyzes and interprets resulting data from tests (resolves data anomalies). Maintains frequent communication with customers; Prepares formal written test reports; Frequent contact with team members outside of work group.

What Can Give You A Competitive Edge (Preference Qualifications)

· Experience in propulsion energy

· Engineering development experience with conventional vehicles and knowledge in HEVs, PHEVs, E-REVs and/or BEVs

· Proficient in MATLAB and Simulink capability

· Experience with analysis/simulation tools, such as: AMEsim, GT Suite, Unified Model or other industry standard energy consumption platforms analysis/modeling/simulation/testing

· Knowledge of computer software as it pertains to engineering analysis techniques

· Understanding of global emission regulations

· Knowledge of conventional/electrification technologies impacting energy consumption, performance and drive quality

· Excellent oral and written communications skills

· Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals

· Understanding and application of engineering theory and principles of operation for mechanical/electrical mechanisms 

· Specific knowledge of engineering mechanics, physics, and fundamental understanding of electric motors, power electronics and advanced battery technology

· High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult

· Lead small engineering teams

· Independent thinking and strong teamwork skills are needed to succeed

· DFSS Back Belt

Preferred Skills and Experience:

· Experience in vehicle level testing, development, calibration pertaining to energy consumption and performance

· Experience with optimization theories and methodologies

· Experience with system analysis and applying systems engineering methods

· Experience with electric motors and/or power electronics

· Experience in powertrain and/or vehicle controls

· Powertrain/vehicle calibration experience

· Experience in analysis and controls from the design to calibration phase

· Master Black Belt Certification

· Knowledge of applied optimization and design of experiments
