Program Summary

Job Summary

The Incirlik Air Base Wastewater Mechanic Operator has the responsibility to monitor and operate critical facility wastewater treatment equipment. The operator is also responsible for ensuring all facilities equipment is operating in the most efficient manner possible to ensure that facility meets safety, efficiency, quality, and environmental targets that exceed KBR and UABOS standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Monitor and operate pumps, motors, controls, valves as needed to ensure continued plant operations.

  • Maintain and repair equipment to include pumps, motors, controls, valves, chlorination units and any other items installed.

  • Collect wastewater samples, conduct routine analysis at various points of the treatment plant, calibrate sensors and equipment and make system adjustments to meet quality targets.

  • Perform routine operator rounds of process equipment and systems, documents finding.

  • Utilize control systems to monitor equipment, read and interpret charts, flow meters, and other system parameters to determine operating efficiency of equipment and system.

  • Perform manual labor to include grass cutting, pruning trees, trash removal and cleaning drying beds.

  • Safely drive to different work sites to monitor lift stations, oil water separators, lake levels and storage tanks.

  • Perform general cleaning includes painting equipment and offices when required.

  • Escorting contractors into restricted areas to perform work.

  • Operate computers and have a working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft office products and PLC Programming.

  • Load and offload hazardous and non-hazardous waste into storage containers and prepare for disposal and shipment.

  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of resources and supplies used in the treatment of wastewater.

  • Perform confined space operations.

  • Capable and willing to wear all required PPE associated with any required task.

  • Must be adaptable in work schedule (include weekend, evening, and night shifts) and working in dynamic environment.

Basic Qualifications

  • Turkish Citizenship

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Fulfilled Turkish Military obligation (male candidates)

  • Must have working knowledge of wastewater treatment process and ability to make operational changes from laboratory results.

  • Must qualify for and pass a respirator fit test.

  • Must have valid Class B driver license.

  • Proficiency in the English Language level 1

  • Must have the ability to see color.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of experience working in industrial maintaining system with pumps motors, valves or pump and motor repair services.

  • 2-Year degree at Trade School. Other certifications dealing with electrical or mechanical works.

  • Municipal employment in water or wastewater plan preferred.
