UABOS Turkey LN: Wastewater Mechanic Operator

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES

Incirlik Air Base wastewater mechanic operator has the responsibility to monitor and operate critical facility wastewater treatment equipment. The operator is also responsible for ensuring all facilities equipment is operating in the most efficient manner possible to ensure that facility meet safety, efficiency, quality, and environmental targets that exceed KBR and UABOS standards.

1.Monitor and operate pumps, motors, controls, valves as needed to ensure continued plant operations.

2.Maintain and repair equipment to include pumps, motors, controls, valves, chlorination units and any other item installed.

3.Collect wastewater samples, conduit routine analysis at various points of the treatment plant and make system adjustments to meet quality targets.

4.Perform routine operator rounds of process equipment and systems, document findings.

5.Utilize control systems to monitor equipment, read and interpret charts, flow meters, and other system parameters to determine operating efficiency of equipment and systems.

6.Perform manual labor to include grass cutting, pruning trees, trash removal and cleaning drying beds.

7.Safely drive GOV vehicles to different work sites to monitor lift stations, water wells, oil water separators, lake levels and storage tanks.

8.Perform general cleaning including painting of equipment and offices when required.

9.Escorting contractors into restricted areas to perform work.

10.Operate computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and PLC programming (SCADA).

11.Load and offload hazardous and non-hazardous waste into storage containers and prepare for disposal and shipment.

12.Monitor and maintain inventory levels of resources and supplies used in the treatment of wastewater.

13.Perform confined space operations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

Preferred:

Five (5) years of experience working in industrial maintaining systems with pumps, motors, valves or pump and motors repair services. Municipal employment in water or wastewater plant preferred.

Qualifications:

Must hold Turkish Citizenship, and have English up to Level 2 Two-year degree especially in mechanical trade school. Other certifications dealing with electrical or mechanical works. Must have strong working knowledge of wastewater treatment processes and the ability to make operational changes from lab test results. Must qualify for and pass a respirator fit test. Must have valid driver license. Must have completed Military Service Obligation Capable and willing to wear all required PPE associated with any required task. Must be adaptable in work schedule (including weekend, evening and night shifts) and working in a dynamic environment. Proficiency in the English language (level 1) and the ability to see colors. Working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
