Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

The Building Mechanic is a vital role responsible for maintaining and repairing the infrastructure of both residential and office facilities within the installation. This position requires a versatile skill set, including proficiency in various trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, HVAC and general maintenance. The mechanic ensures that all living quarters, workspaces, and communal areas are safe, functional, and well-maintained, addressing issues ranging from routine upkeep to emergency repairs. Additionally, the mechanic may collaborate with other maintenance teams and must adhere to strict safety regulations and protocols specific to KBR. Effective communication, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to service are essential qualities for this position.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Performs preventative maintenance, minor maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on real property facilities and installed equipment.

  • Performs intermediate level in areas to include electrical, kitchen appliances and plumbing repair/maintenance.

  • Be reasonably competent in carpentry, sheet metal and masonry trades.

  • Competent in interior and exterior painting.

  • Must understand and comply with the OSHA, NEC, NFPA, and all USAF and local safety directives and regulations.

  • Individual will work on roofs, use industrial equipment, and work outside in adverse conditions.

  • Must have a high degree of knowledge working with hand and power tools associated with electrical, plumbing and carpentry.

  • Physical requirements include being able to lift 23 kilos, climbing ladders, extended sitting or standing.

  • Works uncommon/flexible duty hours (shifts, weekends, and holidays).

  • Performs duties as laborer, driver, and other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Turkish Citizen

  • Must be a Technical High School graduate.

  • Must have certifications showing compliance with Group 3 of the Turkish Law 3308 for electrical certification and training.

  • Must have three years’ experience in building maintenance and repair, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry work.

  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English Level 1.

  • Military obligation must be completed.

  • Must be capable of obtaining a Turkish security clearance.

  • Must possess a valid driver license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to speak, read, and understand English Level 2.

  • Have 3 years of multi-craft experience.
