Resource Planner

We're growing, come join us! We are looking for a Resource Planner to join our Nuclear Division, based in our Idaho Falls, Idaho office. This is a brand-new role in our organization. Due to growth, our Program Management team has expanded, and we need an experienced scheduler to help plan, schedule, coordinate and monitor program schedules with a primary focus on knowing skill sets of team members, and assisting with integrating the needed skills to successfully accomplish projects. You will work closely with Program Management, Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain to establish resource loaded program schedules.

Your Challenge:

  • Work closely with Program Managers to develops and maintain detailed resource loaded engineering development project schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera.

  • Coordinates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, etc. to achieve optimum utilization of resources for project and engineering development schedules.

  • Provides input to Program Managers and leadership team regarding scheduling problems, resource conflicts, material shortages, design changes and resource efficiency.

  • Integrate multiple schedules into a master project schedule, baselining, statusing, performance measurement baseline Budget at Completion (BAC), Cost Performance Index (CPI, Schedule Performance Index (SPI), Estimate at Completion EAC) and Estimate to Complete (ETC).

  • Develop and maintain summary level schedule reports such as Gantt, PERT, milestone charts and other program management tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term work tasks, priority based resource allocations, performance variances and cost/schedule integration.

  • Provide direct input in managing a shared engineering resource pool with expectation to work with Engineering and Program Management to resolve resource conflicts.

  • Support Program Managers in planning, tracking, analysis and reporting of projects/programs, including dashboard maintenance.

  • Ensures adherence to schedule control processes, policies and procedures.

  • Drive consistency of project scheduling to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting.

  • Ability to identify major milestones, decision points, and other major project events.

  • Troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems and conflicts.

  • Participate in program reviews and EAC financial reviews.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or other relevant major preferred.

  • 5-10 years' of experience using MS Project, and/or Primavera, and MS Excel with experience in managing a master IMS and a shared resource pool.

  • Extremely proficient in MS Excel and MS Office.

  • Strong interpersonal and demonstrated facilitation skills, including the ability to motivate and influence others, and build effective interpersonal relationships.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and contribute to a positive and productive team environment.

  • Demonstrated experience managing schedules for Engineering programs involving hardware and software development using MS Project, and/or Primavera.

  • Flexibility and adaptability with different working styles to effectively respond to multiple request/tasks and handle sudden changes in priorities.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, verbal and writing skills.

  • Experience with Earned Value methodologies is helpful.

  • PMP, PMI-SP or CAPM certification preferred.
