This job was posted by https://idahoworks.gov : For more information, please see: https://idahoworks.gov/ada/r/jobs/1441342 &&The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office offers essential job function assessments for entry level applicants who are interested in potential employment for&&&Female Jail Detention Officers&&.&&&&Jail assessments are given in the English language.& Assessments give applicants an opportunity to demonstrate ability to perform essential job functions that include, but are not limited to;* follow oral instructions, read, reading comprehension, memory retention, basic math, and directions. &All assessment materials are provided for each session however, the Sheriff does not provide study materials to prepare for the assessment.&&&&The Sheriff will consider applicants who demonstrate ability to perform essential job functions by correctly answering at least 60% of the written assessment questions.& Qualifying applicants may schedule a time to participate in the respective Saturday physical assessments.&&&&Jail physical assessments give applicants the opportunity to demonstrate ability to perform essential job functions that include, but are not limited to:* run, jump over and across obstacles; ascend and descend stairs in order to catch a fleeing arrestee, prisoner or get to an emergency; use physical strength to overcome a resistive arrestee or rescue a person; lift and carry a person, object or equipment; apply handcuffs; manipulate a firearm; and demonstrate ability to simultaneously drive, use vehicle controls and accessory equipment.&&&&&&For your consideration, the timed consecutive portions of the jail physical assessment include demonstrating the ability to: run an approximate 209 yard obstacle course through hallways, up and down stairs, pulling and pushing doors; push, pull and lift 60 pounds of weight; vault over a three foot high bar while alternately touching back and chest on a mat; lift and carry 60 pounds.&&&&Separately: apply handcuffs; draw back, unload, release the slide and load a firearm; and drive while simultaneously manipulating the vehicle steering wheel, gas and brake pedals, and accessory equipment.& The Sheriff will consider applicants who perform the consecutive timed assessment in 2 minutes, 45 seconds or less, and demonstrate separate equipment functions.&&&&A physician’s signed medical waiver for a temporary medical condition may be considered, and may postpone, but not permanently excuse an applicant’s participation in a physical assessment. *Essential Job Functions listed in Job Description and Addendum&&
