POSITION PURPOSE:

The Accounting Clerk III is responsible for providing financial services on behalf of the North Wind Group of companies. Preference will be given to candidates who possess working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, and accounting software for government contractors. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to performing accounts payable functions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Pays invoices by verifying PRs, POs and transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorization of payment.

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.

  • Perform the day-to-day processing of subcontractor accounts payable transactions.

  • Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.

  • Maintains financial security by following internal accounting controls.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation and issuing stop payments and adjustments.

  • Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in a related field

  • Minimum of seven (7) – nine (9) of accounting experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • High degree of accuracy

  • Great attention to detail

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Proficiency in mathematics

Special Requirements:

  • Must pass pre-employment background check.

  • Must pass pre-employment drug testing.

  • Must have a valid driver license.

  • Ability to pass U.S. Government employment background check and acquire U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) credential card.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preference will be given to candidates who possess working knowledge of Deltek Costpoint, an accounting software for government contractors.

  • Knowledge of billing multiple government type contracts: Firm Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursable, and Time & Materials

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be sitting for long periods of time, but will also be required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee is often required to use hands or fingers to handle, feel, type and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

This position is in a general office setting with low to moderate noise.
