Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible to:

  • Own OTS execution process and manage the development of hardware/software platforms for the simulator delivery.

  • Supporting CKOM & customer technical discussions to review contracts and technical specifications. Be able to present product offerings to customers.

  • Review & approve the OTS milestones & deliverables.

  • Lead the development and maintenance of new OTS features to enhance the product.

  • Identify, evaluate, introduce, real-time and expanded-time transient simulation models for GE gas turbine, steam turbine and/or combined cycle power generation equipment and carbon capture plants.

  • Deliver new modular simulation concepts for power plant auxiliary systems.

  • Drive Lean thinking to provide high fidelity, easy to use simulation capability for a broad range of power system applications.

  • Work with requisition and training teams to improve delivery quality to OTS team.

  • Leading NPI and/or Development projects or simulation studies with moderate risks. Explaining difficult or sensitive information; working to build consensus.

  • Develop work instructions or procedures to enable the contractors to execute and deliver the simulation platform to meet the customer needs.

  • Standardize MLI/BOM for product offerings and develop factory test procedures.

  • Support/Lead customer training simulator site acceptance testing at customer facility.

  • Own OTS PAC cases and drive them to resolution.

  • Drive ownership and incorporate lessons learned into the standard work strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering, Electrical, Instrument & Control Chemical, Mechanical, or related engineering

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in: Power Plant Operations, System Design, Operability, Performance Engineering, Simulation/Modeling or Controls Engineering of any the following Combined Cycle Power Plant or Carbon Capture Plant Components, in any combination.

  • Min 15-20 % travelling required for customer engagements on their premises.

  • Familiarity with gas turbine, steam turbine, and power plant systems.

  • Good understanding of power plant operations and controls.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master of Science (MS) in engineering

  • Experience with transient simulation and simulation software packages such as Easy5, Simulink, Modelon

  • FORTRAN, C/C++, Python Scripting and Java scripting programming languages.

  • Strong leadership skills, keeping team focused and innovating through dynamic business cycle.

  • System Integration mindset within the Thermal Engineering community for meeting customer demands

  • Excellent communication skills with ability to sell technology through simple and clear messaging.

  • Lean mindset, acting on feedback, driving productivity initiatives for business results and personal engineering satisfaction.
