Role Summary

As a Staff Engineer R&D in the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry division at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., you will have the opportunity to be part of a highly skilled team that is committed to developing advanced products. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and guidance to a team of 100+ CMD engineers in domain knowledge, instruments knowledge, engineering, and software activities.

  • Drive key CMD initiatives and take ownership of the CMD lab team in supporting hardware and software for NPDI (New Product Development and Introduction) projects.

  • Foster innovation within the team by supporting the development and execution of proof-of-concept (POC) projects.

  • Continuously enhance the team's product knowledge and capabilities through ongoing learning and training initiatives.

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure successful project execution and timely delivery of results.

  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in CMD technology to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

  • Master of Science or Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field (a PhD in Science or Master's in Engineering is preferred).

  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in CMD-related roles, with a strong background in domain, instruments, engineering, or software.

  • Proven track record in driving innovation and successfully completing POC initiatives.

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and empower a team.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with multi-functional teams.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, handling multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach.

  • Knowledge of NPDI processes and experience in supporting hardware and software for NPDI projects is helpful.
