The Finance Automation team at Amazon is looking for a Software Development Engineer to play a critical role in building next generation applications and services for the global sourcing and procurement operations. The candidate will be part of a team with a goal to innovate and build large scale, complex, and distributed solutions to support sourcing and procurement operations globally across Amazon. We are one of the fastest growing teams across Amazon with strong technology orientation.

As a Software Development Engineer, you will get the opportunity to play a key role in owning and driving the design and development of new software services, components and features in this initiative. In addition to addressing the core functional requirements, you will add value into the system and services across several key areas such as Extensibility, Scalability, Resiliency, Testability, Security and Privacy, Customer Experience, etc. You will get the opportunity to evaluate and use the latest AWS technologies in your design. You will collaborate and create a strong relationship with your customers, partner teams, and stakeholders. You will play an active role in reviewing the technical designs from the team, and mentoring and developing others in the team. Key job responsibilities

  • You will lead the architecture, design, development, and launch of services and application that supports sourcing and procurement operations globally.

  • You work with customers, and peers to understand the business and customer value of your team’s software in order to ensure you deliver the right solutions.

  • You design and deliver innovative and simplified solution to complex and ambiguous problem.

  • You effectively implement software engineering best practices to ensure a high standard of quality for all of the team deliverables.

  • You effectively make priority tradeoffs between new feature development and operational work.

  • You actively mentor & grow engineers across the team.

About the team

Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) Technology part of Finance Automation team owns applications and services that support sourcing and procurement operations for GCP business. We own seven sub-systems cutting across multiple verticals which includes Sourcing, Supplier facing, Procurement, and Analytics applications.

This role is for Supplier Diversity & Inclusion, one of the sub-systems within GCP Technology.

Our vision is to build a state of the art procurement system supporting diverse needs of our customer while reducing defects.

The candidate should enjoy solving complex business problems, building pipelines, working in AWS stack and being passionate about software engineering best practices.

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Hyderabad, TS, IND

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
