Microsoft 365 (M365) Intelligent Conversation and Communications Cloud is the platform that powers billions of real-time customer conversations across Microsoft’s first-party (Teams, Skype), second-party (Dynamics), and third-party solutions (through Azure Communication Services).  

The team in India works on large scale distributed services that enable a variety of IP telephony endpoints to integrate with our ecosystem, expanding the reach of Teams telephony to millions of devices.

Responsibilities

We are looking for experienced backend engineers who are passionate about building large scale distributed systems. As a part of the Devices Gateway team, you will be architecting, designing and implementing services that enable richer scenarios for our customers with devices and integrating them with other system components to deliver high quality calling experiences. This position will provide you unique opportunity of working on distributed micro-services built on Azure compute and work on industry standard protocols. In addition to our smart engineers, you will also work closely with partners and OEMs to drive our E2E scenarios.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications 

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline with proven experience coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, or Python. OR 7+ years of relevant experience 

• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements arerequired for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: 

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

   

Preferred Qualifications 

•  7+ years technical engineering experience with any object-oriented coding languages including, but not limited to C++, C#, Java or Python.  

• 5+ years of professional experience with designing, developing, and shipping highly reliable distributed systems and services 

• Knowledge of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and other industry standard telephony protocols.

• Experience in DevOps to maintain live services and/or application frameworks. 

• Cloud and services experience, with Azure cloud experience highly desirable.  

• Excellent analytical skills with systematic and structured approach to software design. 

• Passion for building highly scalable, highly reliable services. 

• Experience with or exposure to Agile and iterative development processes
