The Principal - Solutions Release Train Engineer is responsible for providing guidance in Agile, Scrum, and SAFe and leads multiple Agile delivery scrum teams consisting of a mix of organization and possibly contractor/vendor staff. The core of this role is to coordinate, track and report on the status of multiple engineering product and solution releases spanning across DevOps, Test Automation, Performance Testing, Platform Engineering, Solution Integration Reference Environment Management, Hardware Benchmarking & Certification and Test Data Management.

This role will work jointly with stakeholders across Product Management, Engineering and Services to create a clear plan for a solution releases, convey that plan to stakeholders and then track to ensure successful delivery with quality.

The Principal - Solutions Release Train Engineer is responsible for providing guidance in Agile, Scrum, and SAFe and leads multiple Agile delivery scrum teams consisting of a mix of organization and possibly contractor/vendor staff. The core of this role is to coordinate, track and report on the status of multiple engineering product and solution releases spanning across DevOps, Test Automation, Performance Testing, Platform Engineering, Solution Integration Reference Environment Management, Hardware Benchmarking & Certification and Test Data Management.

This role will work jointly with stakeholders across Product Management, Engineering and Services to create a clear plan for a solution releases, convey that plan to stakeholders and then track to ensure successful delivery with quality.

In this role, you will:

• Maintain the plan of record for a release

• Track status, maintaining dashboards and reports.

• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure product features are delivered.

• Monitor progress to ensure application releases are delivered on time and within budget.

• Communicate status to all stakeholders.Be the point of contact for the product allowing scrum teams to focus on execution.

• Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, or quality

• Manage the release backlog; continuously order and prioritize

• Engage frequently with the scrum teams to review progress, facilitate action resolution, remove impediments

• Prioritize continuously in accordance with the understanding and validation of customer problems and needs

• Coordinate with Services and support to schedule resolution of issues with released product (PS)

• Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews

• Maintain a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists

• Continually work towards making improvements in the release process

• Managing the ART flow of value, or steps used to create value for the project

• Coordinating and aligning ART activities with the organization's strategic goals

• Implementing PI planning events and monitoring their progress

• Encouraging teams within the ART to collaborate on certain tasks to meet goals

• Promoting improvement through inspect and adapt (I&A) events after PI completions

• Helping keep the ART productive by ensuring the use of lean-Agile processes

Skills and requirments:

• Proven capability in SAFE Agile implementations

• Should have experience as a Product Owner or Scrum Master

• At least 10 years experience working in a software engineering organization

• Deep understanding of DevOps and Test Automation Processes in software delivery

• Knowledge of the Grid domain across Plan, Operate and Transact
