Oracle Principal Software Engineer in HYDERABAD, India

Job Description

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join one of our Development Teams in Hyderabad. You will be working as part of a high performing cross-functional team on a large Software-as-a-Service (SAAS) system. You will be growing the most widely used online collaboration platform in the world for Construction, Infrastructure, and Energy and Resources projects.Through collaboration, Test-Driven Development and good engineering principles, you will be building new, valuable functionality whilst continuously improving the design, security, scalability and reliability of the platform.

We are strong believers in automation. We aspire to have all provisioning and deployment, from CI through to production, fully automated and we expect our engineers to design software with this level of automation in mind.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development:

  • Analyze, design, code, debug, test, and modify new software or enhancements while considering software abilities.

  • Create strategic technical designs for complex projects within the team.

  • Provide high-level architecture guidance and develop specifications to resolve software problems.

  • Performance and Scalability:

  • Identify performance and scalability challenges and provide the right technical resolutions.

  • Debugging:

  • Debug complicated issues that span multiple modules, involve complex concurrency or low-level problems.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Propose and lead process improvement projects for development, deployment, or application monitoring.

  • Mentorship:

  • Share knowledge within the team through mentorship, technical talks, and brown bags

Does this sound like you?

  • 10+ years of experience in Full Stack Development, with a focus on Java/J2EE

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience

  • Proficiency in Microservices, RESTful services, and SpringBoot.

  • Knowledge and experience in SQL and Oracle ATP.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.

  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., GitBucket, GitHub, etc.).

  • Experience developing with AJAX frameworks (eg. Angular, ReactJS, or OJET)

  • Familiar with Linux/Unix

  • Familiar with one or more infrastructure-as-code tools such as Puppet, Ansible and Terraform

  • Familiar with practices such as TDD, pairing, CI etc.

  • Familiar with software engineering processes and principles, particularly in Agile.
