Job Summary:

The candidate will join the Accounting Team and under minimal supervision prepare, analyse, maintain, and deliver complete and accurate financial reports for a highly complex or strategic portfolio of CBRE clients and properties.

The candidate will report to Accounting Manager and cooperate closely with local accounting teams as well as US accounting team to deliver consistent and quality service to clients.

Key duties will include:

  1. Completes and oversees advanced level accounting transactions in preparation of client financial statement packages. Creates and posts journal entries. Ensures that all expenses, receipts, owner's distributions, funding requests and other transactions for the accounting period have been accurately posted.

  2. Provide timely and accurate analyses of accounts receivable, accounts payable and balance sheet accounts

  3. Generates and reviews financial packages for accuracy and comprehensive reporting. Prepares packages on a schedule to ensure timely delivery to the client and other management/US BSO teams.

  4. Understand and report on accounts receivable transactions with respect to financial reporting

  5. Coordinate with Entry Level Accounting AR on cash receipts and lease admin transactions

  6. Reviews and audits funding and payment requests for accuracy, documentation and authorization in accordance with established operating procedures.

  7. Responds to and resolves issues and requests from management teams and clients regarding various accounting issues and reports, including Profit and Loss statements.

  8. Research open accounting issues and recognize potential issues and/or conflicts so corrective action can intercept and minimize issues.

  9. Creates or reviews complex property budgets and forecasting for assigned property portfolios.

  10. Participates in new property and client transitions, and client audit requests.

  11. Cooperation with team members and other departments-based Captive and US BSO team

  12. Adherence to internal and external audit and process control requirements

Requirements:

  1. Fluent English (written and spoken) is a must

  2. Degree from a four-year college or university program with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field required. A minimum of 5 years prior accounting, finance or related experience required.

  3. Real Estate experience a strong plus.

  4. Deep understanding of US accounting principles and internal controls

  5. In depth knowledge of financial terminology and the ability to perform complex calculations and financial functions including prepaid, deferred revenue/expense, depreciation/amortization, and accrual calculations

  6. Strong analytical skills

  7. Strong customer and service orientation

  8. Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, TEAMS)

  9. Proactive approach with Client and strong improvement focus

  10. Strong commitment to quality, orientation to details

  11. Ability to complete complex analyses, reconciliations and communicate results

  12. Ability to effectively present information to internal department as well as other departments

  13. Capability to adapt to quickly changing and demanding environment

  14. Interested in Commercial Real Estate

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; a CPA and/or MBA may be required. 12+ years experience in public and/or private accounting, including 10+ years experience in progressively responsible management positions. Or a non CPA with 15+ years related experience; or any similar combination of education and technical experience. 7+ years managing and developing professionals with proven ability to motivate, manage and lead employees.

CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

CPA preferred.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action. Highly developed written, oral, and presentation skills. Proven ability to effectively interact with external clients, senior management, employees, regulators and external auditors.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accounting Standards (FASB), theories, & practices. Demonstrated experience & knowledge of financial issues & economic impact beyond technical knowledge. Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Develops and implements financial policies and procedures. Approves and oversees department budget. Advanced understanding of accounting and bookkeeping concepts. Develops and administers accounting practices to ensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing CBRE financial interests are protected.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with proven experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Advanced skills in Microsoft suite applications and real estate or other financial accounting software. Thorough knowledge of computer applications related to real estate accounting or financial management systems.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve complex results. Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
