Job Title: Heavy Equipment Supervisor

Job Description

As a Heavy Equipment Supervisor, you will be responsible for traveling to waste supplier sites to screen and load organic waste material. You will oversee, supervise, inspect, schedule, assign, prioritize, and coordinate heavy equipment operators at multiple waste supplier sites (or feedlots). You will ensure that the organic waste safely travels back to the facility from multiple waste supplier sites and strictly comply with the facility’s safety protocols to determine the safety of incoming material.

About the Role

As a Heavy Equipment Supervisor , your work will help to slow climate change. By managing teams of heavy equipment operators at waste supplier sites, you help to ensure that proper organic waste polluting the surrounding environment (i.e., excess manure from farms) gets to the facility for deep slurry injection. Your work will help to clean up and protect your community. Responsibilities of this role are as follows (and others that may not be listed):

  • Oversee, supervise, inspect, schedule, assign, prioritize, and coordinate heavy equipment operators at waste supplier's sites (or feedlots).

  • Coordinate work assignments with the site manager to ensure efficient use of resources and provides technical expertise.

  • Travel to respective waste supplier sites to manage teams who screen, collect, and load organic waste for return back to the facility.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment or identify when professional maintenance is needed.

  • Assist with maintenance and quality control of equipment including the front-end loader, pumps, tanks, and processing equipment when needed.

  • Attend company-sponsored training and meetings as directed.

  • Comply with safety, health, and environmental guidelines of the facility.

Exert physical effort in operating machinery and handling objects up to 50 pounds while being on one’s feet (and outside) throughout the day.

  • Accept exposure to physical environments that involve dirt, odors, and noise during the workday and occasional weather extremes.

  • Accept exposure to (rare) occupational risks (cuts, burns, exposure to fumes & airborne particles).

Work Environment

Work primarily outside in the elements. Need to be comfortable with labor work out in the elements. Working 40- 50+ hour weeks.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to hire position based out of Hutchinson, Kansas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
