General Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in related field required. Master’s degree preferred. Three years of experience in medical education or other professional programs required. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties:

Serves the SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine by coordinating educational training programs across the college as well as the CME program. Collaborates with the SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine administration and PD/ CME committee to develop and facilitate professional development and Continuing Medical Education ( CME ) initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only):

Provides support for all professional development and continuing medical education activities. Works with the PD/ CME committee, coordinates efforts, and provides needed support. Helps with the development of needs assessments, accreditation documents, tracking and reporting of offerings and participants. Assists with the development and implementation of modules, presentations, and workshop materials for professional development. Serves as the point of contact for the Continuing Medical Education ( CME ) program. Assists others with CME requirements and applications. Responsible for tracking and providing professional development and CME reports. Participates in activities to gain a better understanding of the educational process across the continuum and interacts with faculty, staff, and students on a consistent basis. Provides appropriate support, development, and facilitation of programs. Works with faculty, staff, and students regularly related to teaching, learning, and assessment. Works with faculty and staff to provide reports related to professional development, curriculum, assessment and evaluation. Engages in seeking funding opportunities. Assists with special projects. Performs other duties as assigned.
