Integration Innovation, Inc. (i3) Systems Engineer/Risk Management Coordinator in Huntsville, Alabama
Overview
i3 is seeking a Risk Management Coordinator for the the Command, Control, Effects (C2E) Product Office within the Project Manager Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Office. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of risk management principles and their application in a complex military acquisition environment. The coordinator will play a proactive role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks throughout the lifecycle of C2E unmanned aircraft programs, while also recognizing and exploiting opportunities.
Responsibilities
Establish and Facilitate a System of Systems Risk Management Board:
Establish and lead a System of Systems Risk Management Board to evaluate program risk dependencies arising from the integration of new or existing platforms with Launched Effects (LE) and/or Uncrewed Vehicle Control (UVC) efforts within the C2E. This includes assessing interoperability risks, potential points of failure, and overall system-level impacts.
Develop and Implement Risk Management Plan:
Establish and maintain a comprehensive risk management plan tailored to the specific needs of C2E uncrewed aircraft programs.
Ensure alignment with Army regulations and best practices.
Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO) Identification:
Systematically identify potential risks across all program areas (technical, schedule, cost, performance, safety, security, export control, etc.).
Identify and document program issues that require resolution.
Proactively identify and analyze opportunities to improve program outcomes (e.g., cost savings, schedule acceleration, enhanced performance).
Assessment and Analysis:
Conduct qualitative and quantitative assessments of RIO. Analyze their potential impact on program objectives and prioritize them accordingly.
Mitigation and Response Development:
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies in coordination with program stakeholders. Continuously monitor the effectiveness of mitigation actions and adjust plans as needed.
Develop and implement action plans to address and resolve program issues.
Develop strategies to exploit identified opportunities and maximize their positive impact on the program.
Communication and Reporting:
Clearly communicate RIO information to program leadership, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and other stakeholders.
Prepare comprehensive reports, briefings, and presentations.
Maintain Risk Management Database/Tools:
Utilize risk management software and databases to track, analyze, and report on program RIO.
Facilitate Reviews:
Organize and lead risk review meetings, ensuring participation from key stakeholders. Document meeting outcomes and track action items.
Stay Current on Best Practices:
Maintain awareness of evolving risk management methodologies, tools, and regulatory guidance within the Department of Defense and the Army.
Support Program Decision-Making:
Provide risk-informed insights to support program management decisions related to requirements, design, testing, production, and deployment.
Collaboration:
Work closely with program managers, engineers, testers, logisticians, and other functional experts to integrate risk management into all aspects of the program.

Qualifications
Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering management, or a related field. Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
5+ years of demonstrated experience in risk management, preferably within a Department of Defense acquisition environment.
Experience with uncrewed aircraft systems is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of risk management principles and methodologies (e.g., MIL-STD-882E, ISO 31000).
Familiarity with the Army acquisition process and relevant regulations.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in risk management software and tools.
Certification in risk management (e.g., Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Project Management Professional (PMP) with a risk management focus) preferred.
Experience with uncrewed aircraft systems or similar technologies preferred.
Experience with model-based development processes (e.g., Model-Driven Architecture, Model-Based Design) preferred.
Active security clearance (Secret or higher) and Ability to maintain required.
U.S. Citizenship is required.

Regular i3 hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday-Friday, however, additional hours may be required on occasion. Regular and punctual attendance is required.
