Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is critical to our finance team, responsible for a variety of tasks including preparation of journal entries, account analysis, review of balance sheet reconciliations, and assisting with annual budgets.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general accounting functions, which include the preparation of journal entries

• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts regularly

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets

• Ensure the accuracy of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and in compliance with internal policies

• Complete tax filings and other business filings in a timely manner

• Communicate and enforce accounting policies and procedures within the team

• Develop and implement accounting procedures as needed, providing recommendations for changes to current procedures

• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes

• Assist with the annual financial statement audit, including gathering audit evidence and preparing support schedules

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

Skills:

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliations and General Ledger management

• Ability to prepare Journal Entries and conduct Month End Close

• Proficiency in MS Great Plains Dynamics and Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Sales Tax and Property Tax

• Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation.
