BAE Systems Program Engineering Manager III (Hybrid) in Huntsville, Alabama

BAE Systems Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for a Program Engineering Manager (PEM) for the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line. Assignment will be a PEM for our Market Expansion team. This role is focused on leading captures and efforts associated with low-cost radar and EOIR seeker technology. This role requires the candidate to be responsible for planning, technical strategy, engineering staffing, budget, schedules, scope management, risk and opportunity management, and team coordination. The candidate coordinates with Program Managers and Product Line Director to ensure customer needs are met.

This role will be staffed in Huntsville, AL. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical leadership of a project or projects within the programmatic guidelines set by the customer and Product Line.

  • Defines, generates, and reviews customer s project requirements and needs.

  • Interface with customers to create opportunities, communicate our solutions, set expectations, and mange scope.

  • Guides project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.

  • Leads team in planning and execution aligned with company process. Provides the coordination between functional managers and Product Line Leads.

  • Serves as the Engineering focal point for all activity within program including strategic planning, bid and proposal support for engineering content, integrated engineering plans on programs, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management.

  • Drives continuous improvement of product team.

  • Ensures project safety per company practices, processes, and policy.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of professional experience

  • Active Secret clearance

  • Demonstrated program engineering leadership.

  • Minimum 4 years engineering experience leading engineering efforts for missile or munition low cost seeker related technologies (RF and EOIR).

  • Proven leadership managing projects and interfacing with customers

  • Results oriented and driven to closure/ decision making.

  • Boldness and resilience in tackling challenging design activities and technologies.

  • Experience managing team through system integration and verification for complex systems.

  • Experience collaborating execution efforts across multiple businesses and locations.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 6 years experience leading programs in missile or munition technologies and developing opportunities for seekers/sensors (EOIR, RF/Radar)

  • Domain knowledge in RF and EOIR Seekers

  • Experience leading $40M Tech Maturation or EMD programs.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
