Lakeland is currently actively recruiting for aProcurement Specialist. As a Procurement Specialist you will utilize and apply contracting and purchasing knowledge and experience to acquire materials and services required to provide quality, high-performance protective garments that support and protect workers in aerospace, chemical manufacturing, constructions, healthcare, and other sectors. This position involves also interaction with key functional groups.to ensure services and materials are obtained in the most cost-effective, efficient, and strategic method.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Tactical procurement
    • Obtain the best price and lead time for raw materials
    • Generate purchase orders for submitted requisitions
    • Maintain purchasing documentation files
    • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to achieve cost-effective procurement
    • Optimize inventory levels to meet project needs while minimizing excess
    • Monitor and control procurement costs with established budgets
  • Supplier Management
    • Monitor open supplier orders
    • Expedite and track good as required
    • Utilize supplier relationship management sills to ensure performance and adherence to contractual agreements
    • Qualify potential suppliers
    • Maintain accurate supplier documentation files
    • Evaluate supplier capabilities, conduct assessments, and address any performance issues.
    • Contribute directly to team goals and business objectives
  • Functional interactions
    • Work closely with Product Management, Product Development, Quality, and Sales to ensure that procured materials meet specified quality standards and procurement activities are aligned with project timelines and requirements
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and ethical practices
    • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks
    • Ensure materials are procured and delivered according to project schedules

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Problem solving and analysis skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to interact effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Independent decision-making skills
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • 5 years of Procurement experience preferred
  • CSCP Certification preferred
